RECRUITERS GUIDE
1. For Schools and Recruiters: What commitment are we making by joining the GRC?
By joining the GRC, you commit to actively participating in a recruitment collaborative that seeks to simplify the candidate search and hiring process:
-
Ensuring that your school's profile and vacancies are updated.
-
Reviewing and updating your school's profile regularly.
-
Disabling administrators who have left and adding new recruiters. You cannot delete past recruiters, as candidate references are linked to their profiles.
-
Closing old vacancies and adding new openings; candidates are researching their next position.
-
Registering to recruit at the GRC Fairs and engaging with a diverse talent pool.
-
Inviting teachers to register as candidates. We are committed to continuing the free service for teachers. Here is a template you can use to invite exiting teachers.

2. Does the collaborative conduct criminal background checks on candidates in the databases?
No, recruiting schools are responsible for background and reference checks. The GRC is not equipped to handle police or Interpol clearances. As candidate screening requirements vary among schools, individual schools will be responsible for meeting any candidate screening requirements they may have. Please note that no candidates in the GRC database have provided any background checks to the GRC for countries they have previously lived in.

3. How do confidential endorsements and reference checks work in the collaborative?
We have incorporated an "endorsement and references function" into the database.

Candidates who are members of the GRC that register with their school email can be endorsed by recruiters in their school. A school can only give one endorsement for a candidate and that will be treated as the Head of School endorsement.

For references: The candidate can request any supervisor for a reference and they will be presented with the same options as the endorsement shown below.

The recruiter/reference will see one of the following ratings for the candidate:
-
I would hire this teacher again without reservations or conditions.
-
A good candidate, give me a call.
-
I would not rehire this teacher.
Each school is responsible for conducting further reference checks on candidates. Candidates registering as Alumni of any school cannot be endorsed.

4. Understanding the "Like" and "Follow" Features for Schools
What does it mean when a candidate "Likes" your school?
When a candidate "Likes" your school, it indicates that they are particularly interested in joining your institution. This feature allows schools to see a list of candidates who have shown interest in their school, offering a targeted way to engage with prospective candidates before searching the entire database.

How can schools benefit from candidates who "Like" their school?
By reviewing the candidates who have "Liked" your school, you can quickly identify potential candidates who are already drawn to your institution. This can help you build relationships with these candidates early in the hiring process, making it easier to find great matches for your open positions. You can use the Draft feature while creating vacancies and add candidates to your potential hire list. The draft jobs are not visible to candidates.

What does the "Follow" feature mean for schools?
When a candidate "Follows" your school, it means they will receive notifications about any new job openings you post in the GRC database. This ensures that candidates who are highly interested in your school are kept up to date with your vacancies, making it easier for them to apply for relevant positions. Schools cant see the list of candidates that follow your school.

How is the "Follow" feature beneficial to schools?
The "Follow" feature helps ensure that your job postings reach a pool of candidates who are actively interested in working at your school. As soon as a position is posted, it is automatically sent to all candidates who follow your school, broadening your reach and attracting high-potential applicants.

How do we access the list of candidates who "Like" your school?
You can view the list of candidates who "Like" your school by logging into your school profile and navigating to the "Likes" section. From there, you can see the interested candidates and engage with them as needed.
These features allow you to target candidates who are already passionate about your school and make your recruitment process more efficient.

5. Will the head of school be aware of all their current teachers who have chosen to enter the database? (Only applicable for GRC Registered schools)
Yes. When candidates from your school register using their school email as a GRC candidate, the Head of School and all active recruiters in the school will receive a notification and have the opportunity to endorse the candidate.

6. Do candidates need to resign prior to signing up?
By requiring teachers to use their work email ID to join the collaborative, recruiters will be aware of any teacher who has joined the collaborative (For GRC registered schools). We aim to work in a 'no surprises' environment. It is a candidate’s responsibility to follow any notification procedures or requirements set by his/her current school.

7. How does GRC ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) in its recruitment process?
GRC follows DEIJ principles by offering a platform that is open to all candidates, regardless of their background. We believe that talent should be evaluated based on skills and experience, without bias. By promoting inclusivity, we help schools attract diverse educators who can enrich their learning environments.

8. Are other search agencies going to charge me for candidates in their database even though I hired a candidate through the collaborative?
The collaborative is not responsible for and will not mitigate any fees charged by any other organizations nor will it reimburse or equalize these fees. We recommend that schools keep very good records about who is hired through the collaborative.
