2. What candidate data will be stored in the database?

Simplified Profiles: The database is designed to capture essential candidate data. Candidates registering with the GRC are only required to provide basic biographical data, contact details, a resume, a photo, and a list of references for confidential endorsements. We have also included hired from in the experience section which is visible only to the GRC team for data analysis.

3. Do GRC candidates undergo background or criminal checks?

While GRC does not conduct background or criminal checks, we accept candidates based on endorsements, references, and qualifications. However, it is mandatory for all candidates in our database to have a clean criminal record with no history of criminal activity or pending cases, as they will be working directly with children.

Please note that our collaborative schools perform thorough background and criminal checks on all candidates before finalizing any hiring decisions. This ensures the safety and well-being of the students and upholds the trust and standards of our educational partners.

4. How do confidential recommendations and reference checks work in the collaborative?

In line with "Recruitment Simplified," we do not require candidates' supervisors to complete lengthy recommendation forms. Instead, we have integrated an "endorsement and reference function" into the database.

What are endorsements and who can receive them?

Endorsements are available only to individuals with a school-registered account from a GRC-registered school.

What are references, and how do candidates request them?
References are requested by candidates from their supervisors. After their profiles are approved, candidates need to click the request button to initiate the process.

When filling out the endorsements or references, referees will encounter one of the following statements:

  1. I would hire this teacher again without reservations or conditions.

  2. A good candidate, give me a call.

  3. I would not rehire this teacher.

Additionally, there's a text box for references to add a sentence or two about the candidate.

Each school is responsible for and encouraged to conduct further reference checks on candidates. Registered candidates should expect recruiting schools to complete comprehensive reference and background checks.

5. Can I add, delete, or modify endorsements and references?"

  • You can add as many references as you like. Once a reference has been listed, you cannot delete it.

References cannot be deleted. If you need to change a reference email, please email info@grcfair.org and include a copy to the reference. Candidates can only update their reference’s position, phone number, and city by clicking on the reference entry. Remember to use professional email addresses for references; personal emails will result in your profile not being approved.

6. Will the Head of School be notified when teachers register in the database?
Yes, only candidates from GRC-registered schools who register using their school email will trigger a notification to their Head of School, as well as to active recruiters at that school. We encourage all candidates to keep their schools informed, as we value transparency and mutual respect in this process.

7. Do candidates need to resign before signing up?

By requiring teachers to use their work email ID to join the Collaborative, recruiters will be aware of any teacher who has joined the Collaborative. We aim to work in a "no surprises" environment. It is a candidate’s responsibility to follow any notification procedures or requirements set by their current school. For those candidates who are not part of the collaborative schools, they can register as an alumni of the GRC by choosing GRC Candidate in the school dropdown.

8. Are other search agencies going to charge me for using their database even though I acquired my position through the Collaborative?

The Collaborative is not responsible for, and will not mitigate, any fees charged by any other organizations, nor will it reimburse or equalize these fees.
